China Company Suing Apple Willing to Talk About Settlement

The Associated Press reports that a lawyer for a Chinese company suing Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) in China on the use of the iPad trademark pointed out on Tuesday that their client is eager to discuss a settlement.A lawyer for Shenzen Proview Technology announced that no final decisions were reached in a range of disputes over the issue.Proview states ownership over the iPad name while, Apple claims that they purchased the rights in China in 2009 along with other countries, but Proview did not pass the transfer the rights as arranged.On Wednesday, a hearing is set in Shanghai, while Apple has made an earlier appeal in a court in the southern China city of Shenzen.Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has potential upside of 14% based on a current price of $502.12 and an average consensus analyst price target of $572.5.
